BSU team’s success in Skolkovo

The purpose of the forum held in Skolkovo was creation and development of regional universities teams to implement systemic changes in the area of personnel training for technological development.

On 22 July, scientific and educational forum "Island 10 – 22" completed its work at the Skolokovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow. Since 10 July, a large team of Buryat State University took part in this event. This was a large-scale and significant event for the entire Russian education system. Its goal was creation and development of teams of regional universities that can implement systemic changes in the area of personnel training for technological development. The purpose of training personnel for a technological breakthrough facing the education system in general and universities, in particular, involves the presence of management teams that will be properly prepared for systemic changes and their implementation in higher education institutions.

The program "Islands 10-22" is dedicated to the creation, development and consolidation of such teams that bring together universities, regional authorities, leaders of student communities, young scientists-practitioners, representatives of high-tech businesses and investors. For many universities, participation in the event was the start of interaction with the ecosystem of the National technological initiative to create conditions for bringing Russian breakthrough technologies and projects to international markets.

Almost 1.5 thousand people took part in the educational forum “Island 10 - 22”. Those were representatives of 100 universities, 15 scientific and educational centers, educational start-ups, as well as talented students from all over the country - winners of the Olympiad of the National Technological Initiative. The team for the Buryat State University passed the selection for participation. During 12 days of the forum, BSU representatives attended a large number of events on the topics of modernization of educational activities, improving the management structure, data-based management, etc. "The work was extremely intensive and interesting. We worked on projects, techniques, presentations, examinations. Trying to achieve high-quality implementation of the projects the guys could hardly find time for snacks and sleep. In my opinion, we have assembled a decent, strong team. We all understand that today young people from BSU are gaining experience, leadership and managerial qualities. And tomorrow they will be ready to achieve results at the level of the Republic and the country. I am glad that we managed to take our team to Skolkovo for such a large-scale event. I’m sure the guys will realize their potential in the future", said Nikolai Moshkin, Rector of BSU.

It is necessary to understand how the region sees itself in the global world, how the University can help in the implementation of this vision. And the most difficult situation is the combination of the region's struggle for survival and the need for rapid technological development. This is a challenge that can only be realized through the joint activities of universities, regional authorities and local communities. During the forum, the rector of BSU Nikolay Moshkin signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the Agency for strategic initiatives (ASI), the platform of the National technological initiative (NTI) and NTI University "20.35". This document will allow to cooperate with the NTI Platform, NTI University "20.35" and ASI in the technological agenda, the development of new approaches in education, social sphere and urban environment, as well as the dissemination of best practices of digital transformation of regions.
