The first Baikal International School “Education. Culture. Communication: new technologies of interaction”, which was attended by undergraduate students from Mongolia, Russian master's students, master's students and graduate students from China.
On the first day of the school there were motivating lectures by Professors Dagbaeva N.Zh. and Fomitskaya G.N. on the theme “Soft power of higher education in intercultural interaction of the peoples of the Eastern countries”. Self-presentation of the participants aroused genuine interest. The strategic session on creating an image of a modern teacher of Russia, Mongolia and China allowed to find new points of interaction between the participants. Each presentation of the teams representing a different country aroused keen interest of the participants, many questions were asked, revealing certain aspects of the teacher's activity and his/her position in the society.
Russian students presented a very interesting case study on raising the prestige of the teaching profession from the position of marketing in education. The second part of the school's work took place on Baikal. Separate reports were presented by Russian and Chinese graduate students concerning the modernization of teacher education in Russia, China and Mongolia. Each report was accompanied by a lively discussion. In addition to the scientific part, the sports and cultural parts of the program were implemented. Each of the participants sang their favorite songs of their country, someone improvised a theatrical performance, someone read patriotic poems. An excursion to the children's recreation center “Baikalskiy Bor” took place. Foreign participants were impressed by the organization of children's recreation. The school completed its work, but its results confirm the need to give it a traditional status.
